Life in lockdown during coronavirus has been challenging in many ways but personally it’s been one of the most exciting and happy times of my life. On the 16th of June, my partner Liz gave birth to our beautiful little girl, Genevieve. It has been a whirlwind time but we could not imagine life without her now. Mum and Evie are doing well and it’s so amazing to be home with them both. We are absolutely in love with this little bundle and rolling with the happy chaos. We can’t wait for what’s to come and to watch little Evie grow up....Although not too quickly we hope! 👧🏻🥰❤️ #babygirl #homecourt #wta #tennisaustralia #family

I’m glad that you've shared the news with us all. Now, for my confessions:

Look, I know you’ve had many a difficult time at the Aussie Open, to the point where some people have described you as a “punchline”. I’m sorry to say that during your matches, I’ve often sat at the television in dismay, just like this:

I’m also sorry for my phone going off at Melbourne Park while watching you and Svetlana Kuznetsova play doubles. For making tipsy jokes about the ball having to go Kuznets-ova-the-net-sova. Nevertheless, these little things have never posed any serious threat to the champion you are! 

You’ve taught me to never skip arm day and for this, I thank you. Keep those guns blazing!
